Staff Accountant

Insight Global is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations for an on-site accounting team in St. Paul, MN. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, responsible for routine accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close support. The position requires a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and the ability to work independently within established processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries throughout the month, including fixed assets, prepaids, and routine accruals
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and supporting documentation
- Support month-end close activities by completing assigned tasks accurately and on deadline
- Review journal entries after posting to ensure balances moved as intended
- Assist with clean-up of legacy balance sheet items and reconciling differences
Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and -Accounts Receivable activities
- Assist with billing, invoice creation, and customer follow-up as needed
- Provide transaction detail and documentation to support audits
- Perform additional accounting duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience
- 2 years of general Accounting experience
- Understanding of debits, credits, and the purpose of journal entries
- Ability to read and understand financial statements, including Balance Sheet and P&L
- Experience assisting with or supporting month-end close
- Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and working with data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems
- Exposure to Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable processes
- Experience with legacy data clean-up or complex reconciliations
