Position Summary

Position Summary

This position is part of the CPE accounting team serving in our Luxembourg office supporting the Europe Buyout, Europe Technology, MENA, and Ireland funds. The team is responsible for 8 SICAR companies and over 150 holding and financing companies. The team provides support to the teams in Europe as well as the fund accounting team in Washington DC. The role mostly consists of day-to-day accounting work such as processing invoices, booking investments, data generation and working on the year-end close process and assistance on audits. Successful candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment and directly report to the senior accountants and manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a hardworking and ambitious team which is an integral part of the fund operations and accounting in the Washington DC headquarters.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

Accounting duties & responsibilities

  • Recording of daily bookkeeping and processing of payments and deal related cash flows
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the accounting and statutory financial statements prepared by external accounting servicers
  • Assist in preparation of internal accounting and statutory financial statements (including ad-hoc tasks)
  • Assist in the process of the audit for SICARs and SPVs concerned
  • Assist in the preparation and review of VAT and corporate tax returns
  • Assist the senior accountants and manager on specific tasks, including investment structuring and deal closings
  • Work on monthly reporting to the US team based in Washington DC and on the preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Follow up with the service provider on the periodic reporting to the Luxembourg central bank and CSSF
  • Intercompany account reconciliation
  • Follow up on invoice, tax and VAT payments and record keeping
  • Assist in the improvement of internal procedures and liaise with the different segments

Qualifications

Requirements

Education & Certificates

  • University degree in accounting or similar

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Fluent in English, French or German a plus
  • Knowledge of Lux GAAP, IFRS a plus
  • Demasy experience a plus
