GENERAL SUMMARYDistrict Wharf Properties, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. The Staff Accountant will support the accounting team for The District Wharf ("The Wharf") a 3.2M SF mixed‑use project on the Potomac River with retail, multifamily, office, hotel, maritime and entertainment uses.RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare month‑end close for a number of entities across the Wharf portfolio.Record monthly journal entries and prepare/reconcile balance sheet accounts.Work closely with property managers to ensure that accounting is correct at the Wharf properties.Deposit checks across numerous bank accounts.Perform bank reconciliations across numerous bank accounts.Prepare intercompany invoices for multiple Wharf entities.Upload and code payables for multiple Wharf entities and assist with check batching/payments.Prepare quarterly workpaper support for the consolidated Wharf entity.Support the annual audit.Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREDBachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.2-5 years of accounting experience. Experience with A/P, A/R, and/or general ledger preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required. Experience with real estate accounting, MRI, or AvidXchange is a plus.Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, and excellent organizational skills.Must be able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.Must be located in the Washington, DC area.
