Staff Accountant to join their growing real estate accounting team. This individual will be responsible for managing the accounting activities for approximately 12 properties, serving as a key accounting partner to property management and leadership.

The ideal candidate will have property accounting experience and strong Yardi proficiency, with the ability to independently manage multiple properties and meet recurring month-end deadlines.

Job Details

Responsibilities:


1. Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, maintaining an organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions.
2. Managing multi-property accounting, overseeing the financial activities of 12 properties.
3. Preparing journal entries, ensuring accurate recording and reflecting of the company's financial position.
4. Reconciling complex accounts and bank statements.
5. Assisting in the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial data has been recorded and reported correctly.
6. Maintaining the general ledger (GL) and preparing balance sheets.
7. Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
8. Utilizing Yardi systems for property management and accounting functions.
9. Collaborating with the accounting team to improve financial processes and procedures.
10. Providing support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Staff Accountant position will possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting and accounting, preferably in the construction or commercial real estate industry.
3. Proven experience in multi-property accounting and overseeing financial activities of multiple properties.
4. Proficiency in preparing journal entries, reconciling complex accounts, and preparing balance sheets.
5. Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
6. Proficiency in using Yardi or similar property management and accounting software.
7. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
