About the Staff Accountant Role

The Staff Accountant will join an experienced accounting team responsible for supporting financial operations and reporting activities. This role will process accounting transactions, assist with reconciliations and reporting, respond to internal and external requests, and contribute to departmental initiatives.

The Staff Accountant will work closely with accounting and other business teams to help ensure financial information is complete, accurate, and timely.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process accounting transactions and supporting documentation

  • Assist with journal entries, account analyses, and financial reports

  • Monitor cash activity and reconcile cash and balance-sheet accounts

  • Maintain accurate financial records within internal accounting systems

  • Support funding, payment, and transaction-processing activities

  • Respond to questions regarding reports, transactions, and account information

  • Compile and analyze financial and operational data for business requests

  • Support departmental projects, process improvements, and quality-control initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Previous accounting, finance, or relevant internship experience

  • Understanding of accounting concepts and generally accepted accounting principles

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn financial systems

  • Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a team environment

  • Interest in financial services, investment accounting, or related areas

  • CPA candidacy is helpful but not required
