Staff Accountant – Metro Accessible
About the Company and Opportunity:
- Our client is a health focused nonprofit organization in DC who has been around for 150 years!
- Due to a vacancy our client is looking to bring on a temporary Staff Accountant.
- This position is in-office.
- Duration: contract-to-hire, depending on performance, fit, and needs of the business.
- Schedule is Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. 35 hour work week. 1 hour lunch (unpaid).
- Metro Accessible - Gallery Place
- Pay: $31-33/hr ~ perm salary $65,000-$70,000 annually.
Overview of the Staff Accountant role:
- General ledger reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparing Journal entries
- Reconciling/recording electronic credit card payments
- Investment journal entries
- Deferred revenue recognition
- Backup reviewer of AR/AP as needed
Preferred Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Intermediate Excel – Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Knowledge of iMIS and Great Plains is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- COVID-19 vaccination is required
