Staff Accountant

Summary/Objective

The Staff Accountant will support Store Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, and Month-End Close.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process and general accounting (journal entries, analysis, etc.).
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Database by entering monthly asset additions, calculating depreciation, preparing journal entries, and reconciling to the general ledger.
• Assist in the credit card reconciliation process.
• Complete weekly money order reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly store bank reconciliations.
• Perform inventory negative and variance analysis and other store accounting variance analysis.
• Serve as backup for other Staff Accountants; complete other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Accounting is preferred or equivalent experience.
• Excellent math skills, proficiency in excel, and a thorough understanding of the accounting cycle are required.
