You're comfortable collaborating across teams and helping ensure the quality and accuracy of legal work.You'll bringStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyThe ability to work with clients who may have experienced traumaExcellent communication and advocacy skillsA collaborative and team‑oriented mindsetSound independent judgmentQualifications includeEducationLaw degree and bar admission in the U.S.Experience1+ year working on asylum cases1+ year practicing immigration law in the U.S.Experience working with refugee or immigrant communitiesTechnical SkillsExperience preparing immigration forms (I-589, I-765, I-130, I-485, etc.)Strong computer skills (databases, spreadsheets, MS Office)Fluent English required; bilingual Spanish, Portuguese, French, Farsi, Russian preferredOtherValid driver's license preferredAbility to pass a pre‑employment background checkWhat You'll DoAs a Staff Attorney at ReWA, you'll play a key role in supporting refugee and immigrant clients through every stage of their immigration journey. Your day will be varied and impactful, including:Direct Client ServicesPrepare and file immigration and asylum applications (affirmative and defensive), green cards, family petitions, and other relevant formsConduct interview preparation with clients to help them succeed in USCIS and court interviewsAttend immigration interviews alongside clients, providing advocacy and supportProvide legal counsel to clients facing complex immigration or asylum issuesProgram & Team SupportAdvise and mentor bilingual case managers, ensuring accuracy and quality in asylum and immigration applicationsReview and sign legal documents for case managers, including G-28s and applicationsDeliver training and onboarding for immigration staff, sharing best practices and legal updatesCollaborate with the Senior Director, Immigration Supervisor, and other attorneys to maintain clear communication and high standards across the teamAdministrative & ReportingSupport program data tracking and reporting, helping the team achieve immigration outcomes and solve barriersContribute input for grants, contracts, and the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Community & PartnershipsHelp build and maintain partnerships with immigration stakeholders, taskforces, and community organizationsWork collaboratively with managers and directors to ensure clients benefit from all ReWA programsOther duties as assignedReWA is committed to building a diverse, inclusive workforce and workplace.
