    Calling all aspiring audit professionals! Launch your public accounting career as a Staff Auditor with Castro & Company, where you'll support audits for high‑profile Federal Government clients. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to grow in the audit and attest field, gain hands‑on experience, and build a strong foundation in government auditing.As part of our Audit & Attest practice, you'll work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, mentorship‑driven environment. We're looking for motivated, detail‑oriented individuals who are ready to learn, contribute, and make an impact early in their careers.What You'll Do In This RoleSupport audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting for financial statement auditsPerform assigned testing procedures on auditee records, including payroll, cash disbursements, grants, fund balances with Treasury, revenue, and other financial transactionsReview reports, records, ledgers, and supporting documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and proper recording of transactionsTest general ledger accounts, internal controls, financial statements, and accounting system reportsAssist with reconciliations between the general ledger and information submitted to Federal agenciesParticipate in client meetings and clearly document discussions and audit evidenceCompile, analyze, and organize audit data using automated audit toolsPrepare and maintain well‑organized workpapers in accordance with audit standardsYour QualificationsBachelor's Degree in AccountingCPA preferred or 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam0–2 years of relevant experience (internship, academic, or entry‑level audit experience preferred)Basic understanding of auditing concepts and accounting principlesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAnalytical mindset with strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Preferred Skills And ExperienceFamiliarity with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS)Exposure to compliance assessments, internal controls, and financial reportingInterest in government auditing and Federal client environmentsStrong teamwork and collaboration skillsSecurity ClearanceMust be able to pass a basic government suitability checkU.S. Citizenship requiredWhat's in it for you:At Castro & Company, we are committed to delivering exceptional Audit, Advisory, and Accounting services to Federal Government clients while fostering an inclusive and growth‑focused culture for our people.We ProvideA mentorship‑based environment focused on learning and professional developmentExposure to Federal audits and attest engagementsOpportunities to build long‑term expertise in public accounting and government auditingCompetitive compensation and benefitsEqual Opportunity EmployerCastro & Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, disability, or any other classification protected by law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
