Job Purpose & Scope:

Conducts audits to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy of financial records and efficiency of operations within the Bank.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Performs branch, financial, operational and compliance audits of the Bank, its systems, and applications in accordance with the Audit Plan.
  2. Obtains Bank, branch specific, and audit information to use in the planning of audits and determines the scope of testing.
  3. Prepares comprehensive workpapers for each area audited, including detailed process narratives.
  4. Assists in summarizing audit exceptions, procedural violations, and internal control weaknesses and makes recommendations to resolve issues.
  5. Assists with special examinations or internal investigations. as assigned.
  6. Assists the Bank’s independent auditors and regulatory examiners in their respective examinations.
  7. Prevents and detects fraud.
  8. Regularly exercises discretion and judgement in the performance of essential job functions. 
  9. Maintains punctual and good attendance to work.
  10. Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  1. Knowledge of banking laws and regulations. 
  2. Ability to perform audits of the various departments and functions of the Bank.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  4. Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Ability to work well with peers and department management team.
  7. Ability to travel for business purposes (may be up to 50%).
  8. Ability to work without close supervision.
  9. Ability to demonstrate initiative to accomplish work objectives.

  10. Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

 

Basic Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (i.e., accounting, finance, business administration, economics), or commensurate work experience, required.
  2. Minimum of one (1) year of audit work experience, preferred.
  3. Related certifications (i.e., CIA, CPA, CISA or similar), preferred.
  4. This position may require access to certain confidential information and areas of the Bank. Successful completion of a post-offer enhanced criminal background screening including fingerprinting is required.
