Position Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (AP/CP) to join our team as a Staff Pathologist. In this role, you will provide comprehensive anatomic and clinical pathology services while serving as a key member of a collaborative physician team dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic care.

The Staff Pathologist is responsible for evaluating a broad range of pathology specimens, providing expert consultation to clinicians, and contributing to quality initiatives that support exceptional patient outcomes. Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate, interpret, and diagnose a broad range of anatomic pathology specimens, including surgical pathology and cytology cases.
• Provide expert pathology consultation and communicate clinically significant findings to referring physicians and healthcare providers.
• Prepare accurate, timely, and comprehensive pathology reports in accordance with established medical standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Manage a diverse pathology caseload while maintaining high standards of diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.
• Exercise sound independent medical judgment while working collaboratively with fellow pathologists and clinical staff.
• Participate in quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure excellence in pathology services.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable accreditation, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Participate in peer review activities, case discussions, and multidisciplinary conferences as appropriate.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely pathology documentation and medical records.
• Participate in continuing medical education and remain current with advancements in pathology, diagnostic technologies, and evidence-based practices.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP).
• Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
• Strong diagnostic expertise in surgical pathology and clinical pathology.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest standards of medical practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two to four (2 4) years of experience in a pathology practice or comparable clinical setting.
• Fellowship training in one or more surgical pathology subspecialties, including but not limited to:
  • Cytopathology
  • Breast Pathology
  • Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology
  • Gynecologic Pathology
  • Other relevant pathology subspecialties
• Experience working in a high-volume pathology practice with diverse case complexity.
• Demonstrated participation in quality improvement, peer review, or laboratory accreditation activities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based pathology practice.
