Long-Term Care Pharmacist | Details and Compensation:
- Location: Wallingford, CT 06492 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $65.75hr
Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday–Friday 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
Long-Term Care Pharmacist | Summary and Highlights:
The Long-Term Care Pharmacist will dispense medications and provide clinical guidance to support safe, compliant pharmacy operations in an LTC environment. This role includes accurate documentation, patient/provider communication, supervision support for pharmacy staff, and maintaining appropriate medication inventory.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Job Responsibilities
Long-Term Care Pharmacist | Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal requirements
- Monitor medication compliance and identify potential overuse patterns
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy files
- Provide patient consultation on medication directions, storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Provide medication-related consultation/support to healthcare practitioners as needed
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures (as applicable)
- Supervise/support pharmacy staff (technicians, clerks) and daily workflow
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with prescribers and other healthcare practitioners
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to support patient care

Qualifications
Long-Term Care Pharmacist | Requirements:
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) (verifiable)
- License: Active Connecticut Pharmacist license (in good standing)
- Experience: Long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience required
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- Ability to work on-site in Wallingford, CT
