    Staff Physicians of the Department of Family and Community Medicine (FCM) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) are passionate about improving healthcare delivery, particularly for the underserved; share in our mission to improve health through excellence, innovation, and an antiracist/anti-oppressive framework in patient care, education, research, advocacy, and community empowerment. Staff Physicians perform clinical responsibilities in the Adult Urgent Care Center (UCC): Serving more than 20,000 patients annually, the Adult Urgent Care Center provides same-day urgent medical care for illnesses or injuries that are not life-threatening.

    • The Adult Urgent Care Center at San Francisco General Hospital is seeking board certified (or board eligible) Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our clinic.
    • We see adult patients from a diverse, underserved population for urgent medical problems.
    • Physicians are paired 1:1 with a nurse or medical assistant during patient care sessions.
    • Shifts are 8 hours and physicians should be prepared to see up to 3 patients per hour.
    • Robust system in place for per-diem physician result follow-up.
    • We are especially in need of physicians who can commit to working weekends.
    • Per diem physicians are currently expected to commit to:
    • one regularly scheduled shift per week;
    • and at least 12 months of service.

    Salary Information

    The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

    Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine physicians (MD/DO) with a strong foundation in clinical care
    • Physicians who are energized by meaningful, mission-driven work, caring for patients with complex medical and social needs in a dynamic outpatient setting

    Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Cantonese (native-level fluency)
      • Experience working with underserved populations and navigating complex care environments
      • Ability to thrive in dynamic outpatient settings and work collaboratively

    License/Certification:

    • Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine
