Overview

The Maimonides Cancer Center in Brooklyn is looking to hire a full time Psychologist to join its Behavioral Health/Cancer Supportive Services team. The Staff Psychologist will provide consultation, evaluation, and treatment of cancer patients from diverse backgrounds, including both adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological services to patients in the outpatient cancer center

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, oncologists (medical, surgical, radiation), nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, a dietitian, and a palliative care physician

• Contribute to interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient-centered care

• Participate in the supervision and teaching of psychology interns and psychiatric residents

• Support the integration of psychological care within the overall oncology care model

• Engage in continuing education and professional development activities

• Maintain compliance with union (1199) guidelines and organizational standards

Qualifications

• PhD in Clinical Psychology
• Current NYS Licensure as a Psychologist or License Eligible with a Limited Permit
• Clinical Psychology internship plus at least 1 year of post-doctoral clinical experience preferred
• Skilled in Psychodiagnostics Assessment and Psychotherapeutic Treatments including individual, group and family therapy.
• Experience working with cancer patients or a medically ill population preferred
• Good Oral, written and communication skills
• Good Interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus

Pay Range

USD $57.71 - USD $75.74 /Hr.
