What you'll do...

The Staff, Software Engineer plays a critical role in delivering scalable platform capabilities and driving the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. This position leads technical execution aligned with strategic roadmaps, mentors engineering teams, and fosters continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and innovation. The role requires expertise in cloud-native architectures, AI/ML integration, and software design patterns to build resilient, modular solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders ensures alignment with business objectives while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and operational excellence. About the team:Walmart Data Ventures operates with the agility of a nimble startup, delivering best-in-class data products. The team developed Scintilla, a platform providing actionable, customer-centric insights that empower CPGs and Walmart merchants to make informed, data-driven decisions efficiently. Focused on technical strategy, reliability engineering, scalability, and cloud-native architecture, the group builds innovative solutions. Members engage in operational due diligence and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of learning and excellence to support Walmart’s commitment to delivering value through advanced data capabilities and cutting-edge technology. What you'll do:

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
• Lead system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
• Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and feedback integration.
• React, HTML/CS,Javascript, TypeScript, Redux, MultiCloud, K8 Architecture, GraphQL, CI/CD

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions.
• Experience with full software development lifecycle ownership, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
• Skilled in JavaScript and related frameworks such as React JSX, Redux-Saga, and React Native for front-end and mobile application development.
• Ability to lead design reviews and apply data-driven decision making to optimize engineering outcomes.
• Demonstrated capability in DevOps engineering and remedial action to enhance platform reliability and developer productivity.

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.Additional compensation for certain positions may also include : - Stock
