Team members contribute to highly visible, mission-driven projects for a diverse range of clients.Role Description The Staff/Sr Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Old Town Alexandria, VA. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable processing, general ledger maintenance, and bank and credit card reconciliations. The Staff/Sr Accountant will prepare and review journal entries, assist with month-end and year-end close, and support preparation of financial statements and management reports. The role includes monitoring project budgets, tracking event-related expenses, and ensuring accurate coding of costs to support transparent, proposal-driven procurement. The accountant will also help with cash-flow forecasting, support audits and compliance requirements, and collaborate with operations and project teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.Qualifications Solid accounting foundations, including proficiency with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and expense tracking in a project- or event-based environment.Strong skills in financial reporting, budget monitoring, and variance analysis to support responsible financial management.Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Google Drive.Ability to interpret and apply basic GAAP principles and support audit and compliance activities.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, client-focused setting.Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with finance, operations, and project teams.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.Prior experience in professional services, events, media, or a similar project-driven industry is beneficial.#J-18808-Ljbffr
