Steel Construction Project Manager
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, in office with occasional remote flexibility
A structural steel fabrication company is seeking two Project Managers to join a growing team. In this role, you will own your projects from contract through final delivery and serve as the main point of contact for customers, vendors, and the internal shop and office teams. The team values people who are honest, humble, and self-directed, and who take initiative without waiting to be asked.
Project Manager Responsibilities:
-Manage roughly 4 to 10 active projects at a time, keeping cost, schedule, and quality on track
-Serve as the primary contact for general contractors, design teams, and vendors, keeping communication clear and consistent
-Review and execute customer contracts against the original scope, and issue vendor subcontracts and purchase orders in coordination with estimating
-Identify and submit change orders for scope, schedule, and cost, and negotiate them through to resolution
-Track project financials, including monthly cost projections, pay application support, and vendor invoice review
-Manage RFIs with detailers and vendors, and keep drawings and documentation moving through the approval process
-Lead project meetings, including pre-detailing, pre-erection, BIM coordination, and internal planning sessions
-Coordinate fabrication timing and delivery schedules with the shop, shipping, and jobsite teams
-Visit jobsites as needed to review progress and work through field issues
Project Manager Requirements:
-3 to 10+ years of project management experience in structural steel, or with a general contractor managing steel scopes and subcontractors
-Experience on data center, pharmaceutical, or biotech projects strongly preferred
-Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; associate's degree at minimum
-Strong working knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word
