STORE MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP

The Von Maur Retail Management Internship is a 10-week immersive leadership development experience designed for students interested in pursuing a career in retail leadership and store management.

Interns are placed in a Von Maur store location and begin their experience in one of our most dynamic business areas to gain accelerated exposure to customer experience, team leadership, business performance, and store operations. Throughout the summer, interns transition from learning operational fundamentals to functioning in an Assistant Department Manager capacity to full scale department store operations or store management.

This internship provides hands-on experience leading within a fast-paced retail environment while developing skills in business analysis, merchandising strategy, associate development, and decision-making.

What You'll Experience:

• Gain hands-on experience supporting daily department leadership and store execution
• Coach, motivate, and support associates while learning how leaders develop high-performing teams
• Analyze sales performance, business reports, and operational metrics to identify opportunities and drive results
• Participate in merchandising execution and understand how product presentation impacts business performance
• Participate in executive exposure, cross-functional job shadows, and leadership development opportunities
• Visit the Von Maur Center in Davenport, Iowa to experience our corporate office and connect with leaders across the business

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Must have a graduation date of December 2027, May 2028, December 2028, or May 2029 from a college/university
• Major related to Management, Business, or Fashion
• Available to work full time (35-40 hrs/week) and retail hours (mix of days, nights, and weekends)
• Retail or customer service experience preferred
• Possesses a positive attitude as well as strong communication skills and a passion for engaging with people
• Demonstrate time management and organizational skills

The expected base wage for this position is $17/hr and overtime eligibility.
