Store Manager - Building Materials & Masonry

O&G's Mason Division is one of the largest suppliers of masonry products, services, and solutions on the East Coast. The division is a full-service distributor and stone fabricator serving contractors, masons, design professionals, and homeowners, with a broad selection of natural stone, brick, pavers, tile, and other masonry products.

We are seeking an experienced Mason Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Waterbury location.

The Mason Store Manager will be responsible for supervising a small team, assisting customers, managing inventory and purchasing, and overseeing daily store and yard operations. This is a hands-on position that requires someone who is comfortable balancing customer service, employee supervision, and daily operational responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have previous management or supervisory experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to keep daily operations organized and running efficiently. Experience in building materials, masonry, construction supply, or a related industry is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily store operations, including customer service, sales, inventory, and purchasing.

• Supervise, train, and support a small team of store and yard employees.

• Assist contractors, masons, homeowners, and other customers with product inquiries and purchases.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing and product replenishment.

• Oversee yard operations and coordinate the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders.

• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient store and yard environment.

• Address customer concerns and resolve day-to-day operational issues.

• Work closely with division leadership to support the needs of the location.

Qualifications:

• Previous store management, supervisory, or related experience.

• Experience in building materials, masonry, construction supply, or a similar industry preferred.

• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to supervise employees, delegate responsibilities, and manage competing priorities.

• Familiarity with inventory management, purchasing, and sales processes.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to take a hands-on approach to daily store operations.

The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $32- $38/hour, based on qualifications and experience.
