Job Summary/Position Purpose:
The Strategic Finance Advisor - Government Programs serves as a senior individual contributor responsible for providing financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and strategic decision support for the Company's Government Programs line of business, with primary emphasis on Medicare Advantage. This role partners closely with the SVP, Government Programs and reports to the VP, Treasury & Financial Planning to help evaluate business performance, support planning processes, and provide forward-looking financial insight aligned with organizational goals and strategy.
This position acts as a trusted finance partner to business leadership by translating financial and operational information into actionable insight, supporting key business decisions, and helping leadership assess risks, opportunities, and priorities related to Government Programs performance. The role is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, influence, and business acumen, but does not include direct people leadership responsibility.
How You Contribute to the Company's Mission in this Role:
Partner with the SVP, Government Programs and other leaders to provide financial insight, analysis, and decision support related to the Government Programs line of business, including Medicare Advantage.
Provides financial forecasts, budgets, business plans, and multi-year planning assumptions for Government Programs in alignment with enterprise financial goals and business strategy.
Perform financial and operational analyses to assess line-of-business performance, identify key trends and drivers, and highlight risks and opportunities for leadership consideration.
Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, forecasting tools, and analytic approaches used to evaluate Government Programs financial performance and support strategic planning
Prepare clear, concise, and executive-ready reports, presentations, and other materials that translate complex financial information into actionable business insight for senior leadership.
Provide financial evaluation and scenario analysis for strategic initiatives, business cases, and line-of-business decisions to support growth, performance improvement, and effective resource allocation
Collaborate with finance/actuarial and cross-functional business partners to ensure assumptions, analysis, and planning efforts reflect operational realities and support achievement of Government Programs objectives
Monitor financial results against plan and forecast, analyze variances, and provide perspective on implications for current-year performance and longer-term outlook.
Identify opportunities to improve financial planning, reporting, and analytic processes to enhance decision support for Government Programs leadership.
Participate in strategic and cross-functional initiatives as the finance representative for Government Programs, providing analytic support and business partnership as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field
Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
7 years' experience in accounting, finance, forecasting or strategic planning
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or health related field
CPA/CMA preferred.
