Strategic Purchaser – E-Commerce & Dropship

Location: Lakewood, NJ
Schedule: Full-time | On-site, 5 days per week
Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 DOE

About the Opportunity

A growing electronics wholesale and distribution company in Lakewood is looking for a sharp, entrepreneurial professional to join its expanding sales and purchasing team.

This is not a traditional purchasing role focused on placing orders or managing vendor lists. We're looking for someone who enjoys finding opportunities, negotiating deals, building relationships, and understanding how to turn the right purchases into profitable business.

The ideal candidate may already have experience trading consumer electronics or working in wholesale distribution. We're also open to a strong salesperson with excellent business instincts who is eager to learn the industry.

Responsibilities

• Identify profitable purchasing, trading, and sales opportunities in the consumer electronics market.

• Build and maintain relationships with customers, distributors, wholesalers, and suppliers.

• Monitor market pricing, product demand, availability, and trends to identify opportunities.

• Negotiate competitive pricing, purchasing terms, and sales deals.

• Evaluate potential purchases based on margins, inventory movement, demand, and financial risk.

• Develop new business while maintaining and growing existing relationships.

• Work with internal sales, purchasing, and operations teams to move inventory and maximize profitability.

• Monitor inventory performance and help determine when to hold, discount, or liquidate products.

• Research new products, brands, and opportunities to generate additional revenue.

• Take ownership of deals from initial opportunity through execution and financial outcome.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of sales experience required.

• Experience in consumer electronics, wholesale distribution, product trading, or a related industry strongly preferred.

• Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and business development skills.

• Commercially minded, with the ability to recognize profitable opportunities and make sound decisions.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Independent, proactive, resourceful, and willing to take ownership.

• Able to accept feedback, adapt quickly, and work well with different personalities.

• Understanding of pricing, margins, inventory, and purchasing is a plus.

• Existing customer or supplier relationships are a plus but not required.

Training & Growth

The company provides hands-on training with an experienced team member during the initial months. The goal is for the successful candidate to develop the industry knowledge, relationships, and confidence needed to manage deals independently.
