Strategic Purchasing & Supplier Development Consultant

Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking an experienced Strategic Purchasing & Supplier Development Consultant for a confidential client in Greensboro, NC.

This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned procurement professional with a strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier development, purchasing operations, and cross-functional business collaboration.

The selected individual will help drive purchasing initiatives, evaluate supplier capabilities, support sourcing strategies, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, supplier performance, and long-term business value.

Location: Greensboro, NC
Pay: Up to $62.50 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing and purchasing initiatives to support business and operational objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop supplier relationships to improve quality, cost, and performance.
• Manage supplier investigations, RFQs, sourcing evaluations, and supplier recommendations.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Operations teams to support procurement initiatives.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and support strategic purchasing decisions.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, market conditions, and potential sourcing opportunities.
• Support process improvements, purchasing governance, and performance reporting.
• Identify innovative supplier solutions and opportunities related to product lifecycle management, remanufacturing, and sustainability.
• Manage multiple purchasing projects while maintaining deadlines and business priorities.
• Communicate recommendations, project updates, and sourcing strategies to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier development, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and strategic purchasing initiatives.
• Strong understanding of sourcing processes, RFQs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Experience working cross-functionally with technical, operational, and business teams.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage complex projects and competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• Experience within manufacturing, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial environments preferred.
• Knowledge of remanufacturing, aftermarket operations, circular economy initiatives, or sustainability strategies is a plus.
