Job Title: Strength and Conditioning Trainer

Location: All Schools/West Feliciana High School

Employment Details:

• Full-Time Position (182 day/9 month employee;)

• Salary is Based on Experience as designated on Teacher Salary Schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher
• Three years of coaching and/or teaching experience preferred

OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, implement, and monitor strength training and conditioning programs in-season, off-season, and pre-season for all school-sanctioned male and female athletic programs in a manner that reflects data-driven practices.
• Work in cooperation with the athletic trainer in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes as well as promoting injury prevention.
• Facilitate a collaborative relationship among coaches, PE teachers, administrators, and athletic director to identify goals and vision as it pertains to athletic performance and development.
• Promote and maintain a positive relationship with parents and community members.
• Provide professional development to coaches and PE teachers as needed.
• Design and implement policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with the LHSAA and district goals.
• Develop systems for tracking student progress in conjunction with the coaches and PE teachers.
• Conduct an annual needs-analysis for each team in conjunction with the coaches and the team's athletic trainer at the beginning and conclusion of each season.
• Annually conduct and review a departmental risk management plan.
• Assist the athletic director in identifying needs for equipment.
• Ensure athletic arenas, facilities, and/or other areas where athletic programs are held remain clean, orderly, and appropriate for a positive atmosphere.
• Determine and reinforce expectations for athlete conduct that mirror the school's expectations for curricula and extra-curricular activities, as stated in the school's Student Code of Conduct.
• Design and implement curriculum to incorporate strength and conditioning practices into PE classes.
• Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the school and district handbooks, West Feliciana High School coaching handbook, and the WFHS athletic handbook for coaches, players, and parents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
