Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Stress Engineer to join a growing aerospace engineering team. This position is responsible for performing structural analysis, supporting aircraft modifications, and ensuring designs meet certification and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with metallic and composite aircraft structures, finite element analysis, and aircraft certification standards.
Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA).
Evaluate metallic and composite aircraft structures for static strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
Prepare structural analysis reports, engineering documentation, and technical presentations.
Support structural design from concept through final release.
Review designs for structural reinforcements and load path analysis.
Develop certification documentation supporting FAA, TCCA, and EASA requirements.
Participate in design reviews and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of stress engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR requirement).
Experience with FEA software such as Patran, Nastran, Nasgro, Altair, or similar.
Proficiency with CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office.
Strong understanding of aircraft structural load paths, static analysis, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
Familiarity with civil aircraft certification requirements (FAA, TCCA, EASA).
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
MRB experience is a plus.
