Position Overview

We are seeking a Structural Designer for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Tempe, AZ. This position will be a key contributor to the structural design team, supporting advanced technology and manufacturing projects, including semiconductor fabrication and support facilities.

The Structural Designer will develop structural models and produce 2D and 3D design deliverables using Revit and other design software. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing assigned design responsibilities independently while maintaining accuracy, quality, and compliance with project and client standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D structural models using Revit based on engineering direction, sketches, and project requirements.

• Produce structural drawings, plans, details, and portions of complete drawing packages.

• Apply project, department, and client drafting and design standards.

• Take ownership of assigned design scope and manage workload within established project requirements.

• Review work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.

• Coordinate structural designs with other engineering and design disciplines.

• Participate in BIM coordination, QA/QC reviews, and other project coordination activities.

• Execute routine design assignments independently following initial direction.

• Identify design questions or conflicts and seek clarification when project requirements or standards are unclear.

• Support other team members and contribute to overall project execution.

• Develop design automation skills and incorporate emerging technologies into design workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Completed coursework in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or related field.

• Minimum 2 years of structural drafting/design experience.

• Minimum 1 year of Revit experience.

• Experience developing structural drawings and 3D models.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage assigned work independently.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Design, or related field.

• 3+ years of Revit experience.

• Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam.

• Experience designing traditional structural steel and reinforced concrete systems.

• Experience supporting general industrial or advanced manufacturing facilities.

• Semiconductor facility design experience is highly preferred.

Work Location

This is a hybrid position based in the Tempe/Phoenix, AZ area. Candidates must live within approximately 50 miles of the office and be available to work onsite at least two days per week. Reliable home internet is required for remote workdays.
