Structural Engineer (PE/SE)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their Advanced Facilities team supporting the design and delivery of state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex engineering projects from concept development through construction and post-construction support.

In this role, you will play a key part in developing design concepts, performing technical studies, and overseeing the preparation of detailed drawing packages for structures, infrastructure, and equipment systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and consultants while supporting projects through every phase of design and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop structural design concepts and technical studies to support client decision-making.
  • Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations for steel and concrete systems.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of construction documents and detailed drawing packages.
  • Support projects through all phases of design, including schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project coordination sessions.
  • Conduct site investigations and existing conditions assessments.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction.
  • Perform site visits and construction observations to verify design intent and support project execution.
  • Provide technical expertise and engineering solutions to complex structural challenges.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of structural design experience involving both steel and concrete structures.
  • Experience using structural analysis software such as STAAD or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience preparing structural design drawings and project deliverables across all project phases.
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities, deadlines, and multiple assignments.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting semiconductor, advanced technology, or manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience with innovative, complex, or large-scale facility projects.
  • Familiarity with consultant coordination and multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Strong presentation, visualization, and graphic communication skills.
  • Experience working on both small and large project teams.
  • Knowledge of project scoping, planning, and development activities.
  • Experience with Navisworks and/or Revit BIM software.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Forward-thinking mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong interest in buildings, construction, and advanced facility design.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Hybrid work arrangement requiring approximately two days per week in the office, with the remainder performed remotely.
  • Project site visits and field activities required as needed.
  • Travel up to 25% throughout the continental United States.
