Structural Engineer (PE) - Steel

Our client, an established structural steel fabrication and erection company in the greater Houston area, is hiring a licensed Structural Engineer (PE). You will support steel projects with connection design, engineering review and calculations, working closely with detailing, project management and the fabrication shop.

Responsibilities

- Perform connection design and structural calculations for steel projects

- Review and stamp engineering submittals and calculations as required

- Support detailers and project managers on RFIs, design questions and constructability

- Review shop drawings for compliance with design documents and AISC standards

- Coordinate with engineers of record, general contractors and owners

Qualifications

- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license; Texas PE preferred or able to obtain

- Structural engineering experience with steel design and connection design

- Strong knowledge of AISC specifications and steel construction

- Experience with structural analysis and design software

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
