Structural & Misc Steel Estimator (Fab & Erection)

Our client, a steel fabricator and erector working across the East Bay and Northern California, wants an experienced Estimator to price structural and miscellaneous steel packages. Every estimate covers both fabrication and erection, and the work spans light commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

What you'll do:

• Go through plans and specifications to catch scope gaps and exclusions and to suggest value-engineering options
• Put together quantity takeoffs and estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection
• Gather and weigh quotes for detailing, erection, coatings, and freight
• Develop competitive bids and proposals on light commercial, residential, and industrial projects
• Partner with project managers, the shop, and field crews on constructability and the handoff to the project team

What you bring:

• Steel estimating experience that covers fabrication and erection
• A good grasp of structural and miscellaneous metals packages
• Strong blueprint reading
• Nice to have: Tekla EPM, SDS2, or a similar estimating platform
