Structural Steel Business Development Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Development professional to develop new business opportunities and build long-term relationships within the structural steel industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of large and complex structural steel projects, including data centers, airports, e-commerce facilities, stadiums, high-rises, and other major commercial projects.

This is a remote position with travel required to meet with customers, attend industry events, and develop new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, construction managers, developers, and other key industry contacts
• Identify and pursue new structural steel project opportunities
• Build and manage a pipeline of potential projects and customers
• Track upcoming projects and engage with clients early in the procurement process
• Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and project information
• Work closely with estimating, operations, and project management teams to develop opportunities
• Attend customer meetings, industry events, and project meetings as needed
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while expanding the company's market presence

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in structural steel business development, sales, estimating, or project management
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection
• Experience with large-scale and complex projects such as:
  • Data centers
  • Airports
  • E-commerce facilities
  • Stadiums
  • High-rise buildings
  • Large commercial and industrial facilities
• Established relationships within the construction industry preferred
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Willingness to travel regularly
