Location: Pilot Point, TX
Shift: Days (6am - 4pm)
Pay: $18 ph - $22 ph depending on experience

A day in the role

You arrive for a 6am start, review the day’s cut lists and drawings, and get your station set. You’ll dial in precise tool offsets, stage material, and run parts on beam and plate processing equipment. Quality checks with calipers and visual inspection keep everything on spec. Between runs, you’ll knock out routine preventive maintenance to keep uptime high and hand off cleanly to your teammates.

What you’ll do

• Operate and set up structural steel CNC equipment, ideally Voortman, Controlled Automation, Peddinghaus or Python (or comparable machinery).
• Load and unload material and finished parts safely and efficiently.
• Set all tool offsets with precision to meet tight tolerances.
• Calculate setup values using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints, including GD&T.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines to maximize reliability.
• Leverage press brake experience where applicable.

What you bring

• Hands-on proficiency with Voortman, Controlled Automation, Peddinghaus or Python systems (or similar steel fabrication CNC equipment).
• Press brake operating experience is a plus.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings with accuracy.
• Familiarity with inspection practices and tools (e.g., calipers).
• Comfort using hand tools and basic machining equipment.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
