Structural Steel Fabrication Welder

Picture a day where your welds hold up stair towers, platforms, and rail systems used every day. At Staffworks Group in Providence, RI, you’ll start your shift reviewing detailed blueprints and shop drawings, planning out the sequence for a custom build, and selecting the right process—MIG, TIG, or Flux-Core—to achieve clean, structurally sound results. You’ll measure, cut, fit, grind, and finish steel with precision, then keep the shop tidy and safe so the next job flows just as smoothly.

What You’ll Build

• Custom metal structures for a variety of applications
• Staircases, handrails, platforms, and other structural elements
• One-off and short-run fabrication projects requiring careful fit-up

How You’ll Work

• Read and interpret complex blueprints, shop drawings, and welding schematics
• Operate MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core equipment confidently; use Stick as needed
• Measure, cut, and shape metals; fit, grind, and finish to spec
• Follow best practices for shop safety and maintain an organized work area

What You Bring

• 5+ years of professional welding experience (MIG/TIG/Stick preferred)
• Proven background in metal fabrication or manufacturing
• Ability to read and work from complex blueprints/layout drawings
• Physical capability to lift and handle heavy materials safely

Important: This is a senior-level, hands-on shop role—not entry level. A minimum of 5 years of welding experience is required; applicants without this will not be considered.
