Description Summary

The student aide will assist with the day to day operations of the art department by assisting faculty with studio maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set out art supplies for each class assigned.
  • Set up still life arrangements for painting and drawing classes.
  • Maintain inventory of art supplies in both the 2D and 3D rooms and report to faculty advisor when supplies need reordering.
  • Assist with installing art exhibitions in Building B display cases.
  • Organize and install student artwork exhibitions in the Building D display cases.
  • Assist with the Skyway Juried Competition entries.
  • Maintain order in both 104 and 106D by cleaning as needed.
  • Help with 107D open studio hours if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicant must be a current Morton College student carrying six credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester. One credit in the Summer semester. Student must also be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of compassion, fairness, respect, responsibility, tolerance and truth.

The candidate must be enrolled in a course at Morton College, with excellent interpersonal skills and have some office related experience. The candidate must be well organized, dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented and have good judgment. Must be flexible in work availability including daytime, evenings, or weekend hours. The duties and responsibilities may change as the need of the college rises.
