Student Aide - Federal Work Study - Cultural Center

Duties of Position:

Will positively represent the department to fellow students, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors and perform a range of roles including research, data analyses, event planning, special projects and participating on campus committees.

• Assisting with the management of department social media account including post creation and scheduling.
• Assisting with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
• Researching best practices at other colleges.
• Participating in team trainings and readings to stay informed on DEI related news and culturally competent practices.
• Supporting programs sponsored by the department.
• Representing the department during informational/outreach/committee meetings.
• Distributing general information about the office and its programs and services.
• Compiling/analyzing data.
• Covering the reception desk and lounge area at the Cultural Center.
• Providing customer service and event support in the Cultural Center.
• Managing a range of office projects
• Completing other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements: In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester (three for summer)

Experience Requirements: Student employees must have strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, creativity, cultural awareness and sensitivity and the ability to complete a broad range of responsibilities/projects with limited supervision. Student employees must also have strong customer service skills and an interest in research, as well as an interest in participating in events and discussions.
