Rappahannock Community College (RCC), founded in 1970, provides high-quality educational and training opportunities throughout a 12-county service region an hour east of Richmond on the beautiful western shore of the Chesapeake Bay with access to fresh local seafood and water activities. RCC delivers accessible and affordable educational opportunities, including for-credit transfer and career technical programs, robust distance education coursework, quality dual enrollment courses, and award-winning workforce training and credentialing programs. RCC's annualized enrollment of 3,900 credit students in 2025-2026 and almost 890 workforce and community development students are supported by almost 140 full-time employees and over 200 part-time/adjunct employees across two main campuses and five satellite sites.

RCC invites you to apply for our Student Ambassador position. Duties of student employees may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Attending the annual VCCS Student Leadership Conference
• Assisting with the annual graduation ceremony in May
• Assisting with New Student Orientation sessions
• Participating in recruitment activities
• Conducting college tours
• Assisting with Fall Bash and Spring Fling
• Assisting with monthly theme activities
• Providing input to Student Health 101 pages and social media postings
• Serving as a member of either PPAC or SAC
• Traveling to other campus sites for events, including driving state vehicles
• Assisting students with the recreational equipment, wide screen TVs, and games in the lounge
• Assisting with intramural programming, such as setting up games using the facilities of the college, e.g., volleyball, flag football, and horseshoes
• Assisting with movie night
• Consulting the college and student event calendar when planning activities
• Providing campus student event assistance working under the direction of college staff

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with college environment
• Ability to use email and social networking to communicate
• Good academic standing
• Valid Virginia driver's license
• Must be currently enrolled at RCC

Additional Considerations Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel

Must be able to occasionally travel between campuses or to college events.
