The Grille Student Cook position focuses on food preparation during hours that the Grille/ Community Table is open for service. This is a hands-on role that involves supporting full time employees in providing high quality, "made to order" meals to students and the Middlebury community in a fast-paced environment.
This position is included in the Student Wage Scale and will be paid $16.75/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food preparation such as slicing vegetables, making sauces, frying, grilling meats, and portioning ingredients according to recipes.
- Ensure that all food items meet quality standards for taste, presentation, and freshness.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and work areas including washing dishes and taking out trash and compost throughout shift.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation practices to protect the health and well-being of our customers.
- Work closely with fellow employees to ensure smooth operation during service. Foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Adhere to all Middlebury College and Dining Service policies, procedures, and guidelines.
