    Description

    Job Title:Columbus House Dining Services Assistant
    Department:Office of Community Engagement
    Student Employment Type:Federal Work-Study        
    Responsibilities:

    The Dining Services Assistant, will assist with staffing the kitchen operating as one of the main points of contact for clients visiting the Dining Room. This position will involve greeting and assisting customers, assisting in meal preparation and serving, responding to client questions, and maintaining a clean dining room and kitchen.

     

    • Act as one of the main points of contact for clients
    • Answer inquiries about meals, menu or dietary needs and respond to client needs
    • Assist with cleaning, stocking the kitchen, managing inventory and cleaning dishes
    • Assist with meal design, preparation and serving
    • Assist in managing volunteers who will help to prepare and serve meals
    • Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to client services and information
    • Other duties as needed
    Qualifications:
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Experience in customer service, hospitality, restaurant service industry preferred but not required
    • Interest in social work, nutrition, and/or physical and mental health
    • Proficiency in a language other than English is helpful but not required
    Hours of Position:
    • Student will be expected to work up to 6 hours per week between the hours of 12pm – 6pm Monday through Friday.
