Job Summary
Student employees in the Facilities Services Department support a wide range of operational, maintenance, and campus-wide service activities. Daily assignments may vary and will be directed by Facilities Services Managers or Directors across Maintenance, Grounds, and Building Services. Tasks are assigned based on departmental priorities and operational needs.
The responsibilities listed below represent typical duties but are not all inclusive. Student employees may be required to perform additional tasks as needed.

Arrive on time and prepared to work at the start of the shift
Notify your supervisor at least one hour before your shift if you are ill and will not be coming to work.
Work consistently from the beginning to the end of your scheduled shift
Breaks:
For a full shift (6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.): two 15-minute breaks at 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Breaks must be taken in the nearest building to the work site; travel time is included in the 15-minute period
For shifts shorter than a full day: one 15-minute break per four hours worked
Lunch: one unpaid 30-minute lunch at 11:00 a.m.
Dress appropriately: neat, comfortable clothing; shirts with sleeves are required
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
Must be able to work safely from ladders when required
Maintain responsibility for all equipment assigned
Conduct yourself professionally and courteously as a representative of Purdue University Northwest
Report all vehicular accidents immediately to Purdue Police, followed by your supervisor
Report any damage to Purdue property, equipment, or other property immediately to your supervisor
Student employees may be held responsible for damages resulting from negligence
Ability to work adjusted schedule dependent upon area of coverage.
Ability to work overtime to meet the business needs of the University.
Valid driver's license is preferred but not required.
