    Description

    This position will support the day-to-day media presence of the competitive esports team through: social media outreach, collegiate competition broadcasts, digital content creation, statistical analysis, and competitive esports activities. The intern will gain practical experience in broadcasting, social media outreach, and gathering statistics within both higher education and collegiate athletics.

    This position is designed to provide an entry-level professional experience for a student interested in broadcasting, social media, statistical analysis, athletics, esports, student engagement, marketing, technology, or higher education.

    Examples of Duties

    Esports Broadcasting

    • Setting up and taking down the esports broadcasting equipment
    • Produce and execute on going competitive esports match broadcasts
    • Provide technical support as necessary for the esports broadcasts
    • Commentate as necessary for each of the esports broadcasts
    • Create graphics, slides, and additional media to be displayed on the esports broadcasts
    • Support the use of the esports space by student clubs and campus organizations

    Graphic Design & Social Media

    • Create graphics and promotional materials for ongoing, upcoming, or completed esports matches, tournaments, and other competitive events
    • Develop social media content using Canva and other graphic design tools
    • Present and execute creative social media content involving individual players, teams, and/or staff
    • Assist with promoting events, tournaments, team activities, and student opportunities
    • Maintain consistent and engaging visual communications for Mighty Banyans Esports
    • Collaborate with the Director of Esports to develop creative promotional strategies

    Statistic Collection & Reporting

    • Collect and organize statistical data from competitive esports matches
    • Maintain spreadsheets and other tracking systems using tools such as Microsoft Excel
    • Generate statistical reports both for individual games, seasons, and full player career
    • Present statistics to both players and fans through the NCF Athletics website in collaboration with the NCD Athletic Communications Department
    • Present relevant data and findings to the Director of Esports and other stakeholders

    Competitive Esports & Program Support

    • Provide additional support for competitive esports operations as needed
    • Assist with team practices, matches, tournaments, and other competitive activities
    • Support broadcasting and production activities when appropriate
    • Assist with team and event scheduling
    • Help coordinate logistics for competitive gaming activities
    • Support other projects and initiatives that contribute to the growth and success of Mighty Banyans Esports

    Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • No specific major is required
    • Highly organized, creative, enthusiastic, and dependable student who is interested in esports, gaming, broadcasting, sports commentating, student engagement, social media, athletics, or facility operations
