Job Title: Snow Crew - Equipment Operator $17.75/hour Classification: Student Employment Reports To: Maintenance - Grounds Technician I

Job Description:

To maintain the functionality of university facilities through the removal of snow and ice on an on-call basis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Usage of machinery to remove snow from campus walkways
• Attending to on-call shifts outside of business hours during snow events
• Maintain communication with the Maintenance Supervisor via email, text, or phone call
• Monitor weather conditions and prepare accordingly
• Routine care/maintenance of machinery used

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Currently enrolled student at NCU
• Knowledge of basic equipment operation & care
• Ability to communicate well on various platforms to insure shared understanding of information & responsibilities
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Use of hand tools
• Experience in equipment operation & snow removal preferred

Additional Comments:

• Work environment includes exposure to dust or chemicals and extremes in temperature
• Snow Removal Equipment Operators are hired for the winter season and the position is a contractual agreement
• Year-end bonus is included if all job requirements are met during the snow removal season (i.e., arriving on time for each snow event, clearing the snow properly, etc.)
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required during operation of machinery

Hours/Week: Hours depend on number of snow events during a given time

Operating Hours: 4:30 PM-8:00 AM in various shifts
