Student Learning Aide - Math Gifted & Talented Program

The School District of Fort Atkinson is accepting applications for a Gifted and Talented Program - Student Learning Aide. This position supports high achieving students to grow and advance to their fullest potential in the area of mathematics. Activities include proving extension in problem solving, finding alternative solutions, building fluency and extending mathematical thinking to elementary students identified as showing readiness for additional challenge.

The Student Learning Aide duties will include:

• Assisting students with online and/or class extension activities as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or provided by the Gifted and Talented program
• Connecting extension learning to the core grade level curriculum as applicable
• Supporting the development of social emotional skills to maximize student growth including managing time on tasks, mastering lagging "student skills" as present, and understanding the unique needs of advanced learners
• Deepening opportunity for students to engage facilitated problem solving
• Communication with the classroom teacher and families, when appropriate, regarding student progress, observations and successes
• Participating in the identification of learners in need of services including data collection and analysis
