Job Summary/Basic Function

This position assists professional staff in the planning and implementation of events at the Ware Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Lancaster. The Student Manager operates as a team leader, assisting in orienting, training, and supervising student workers in event and production positions. The student manager will also participate in creating and maintaining departmental documentation, such as inventories, checklists, and training materials.

Required Qualifications

  • At least one year working with OVPA as an Event Support Student Worker
  • Ability to consistently work a minimum of 15 hours per week
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to lead peers with inclusion, and compassion
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work a varied schedule including daytime, evening, and weekend hours as necessary
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Previous supervisory experience

Job Duties

  • Lead crews of student workers during setup and teardown shifts and other work calls
  • Work as student event or technical coordinator as assigned
  • Assist in training and orientation of new student workers
  • Attend production meetings as assigned
  • Participate in creating and maintaining inventories, training materials, checklists, and other department procedural documentation
  • Other duties as assigned
