• Mathematics competency based on Mathnasium employment assessment.
• Ability to instruct any of the following; Elementary Math through Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus.
• Must have high school diploma, G.E.D., or be in the process of completing.

Hours per Week

8-10

Maintain availability during center operating hours, including nights and weekends. Willing to work at least a couple of shifts per week.

Job Summary

You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.

Possess skills and curriculum knowledge to enable Instructor to provide effective and concise math instruction to students of all ages, while using the Mathnasium Method. Contribute to the creation of an engaging and productive learning environment . Participate in positive interactions with parents, establishing a high level of confidence and program value, building long-lasting relationships. The Learning Center Instructor is also responsible for assisting in evaluating and tracking the progress of each student and completing administrative tasks as assigned. Maintain and foster effective communication with the Director and staff. Assist in maintaining a safe, clean environment. This is a part time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Teach, Educate and Monitor Students
• Utilize the Mathnasium Method of teaching.
• Provide effective and concise math instruction that makes sense to each student.
• Inspire and motivate students to do well. Develop rapport and create a fun learning environment.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm in teaching math.
• Communicate student needs to the Lead Instructor on an ongoing basis.
• Grade mastery checks.

General Responsibilities:

• Conduct yourself in a friendly, responsible, and professional manner any time you are representing Mathnasium.
• Partner with team members to maintain a positive, supportive atmosphere based on common goals and objectives.
• Maintain a positive relationship within the community.
• Participate in local marketing events to generate new prospects and promote Mathnasium…
• Assist in non-teaching tasks, which may include administrative assistance, curriculum preparation, cleaning , or other duties as assigned.
• Attend and participate in trainings and staff meetings as scheduled.
• Take initiative to improve the overall operations of the center.
• Be receptive to feedback and use it to improve overall performance.
