Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing comprehensive academic advising, student support services, recruitment assistance, and admissions processing for students within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The position supports student success through academic guidance, progression monitoring, admissions coordination, and record management. Additionally, the role serves as a key point of contact for prospective and current students, facilitating engagement, retention, and successful program completion.
This position is funded through a four-year strategic partnership with Phoebe Putney Health System designed to support workforce development initiatives and student success within the College. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding, satisfactory job performance, and institutional need.
Responsibilities
Advises students (50%)
Provides academic advising to Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) students and Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) students as needed.
Assists students in developing educational and career plans aligned with academic and professional goals.
Registers students for classes and assists with course selection and schedule development.
Processes schedule revisions and registration-related transactions.
Monitors and tracks student academic progress and program completion requirements.
Corresponds with students through phone, email, virtual platforms, and in-person meetings.
Refers students to appropriate university and community support resources.
Processes drop/add requests, withdrawals, program changes, name changes, and other student records transactions.
Reviews and responds to student alerts and early intervention notifications.
Assists students with transfer admissions, transfer credit evaluations, and articulation processes.
Provides information regarding university policies, academic requirements, and graduation expectations.
Process student applications (25%)
Responds to inquiries from prospective ASN and RN-BSN students.
Processes and reviews applications for completeness and accuracy.
Maintains communication with applicants regarding admissions requirements and deadlines.
Coordinates with university departments, including Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs.
Prepares and forwards completed applications to the Admissions Committee for review.
Assists students through transfer and admissions processes.
Maintains admissions records and applicant databases.
Assists in managing student records (10%)
Maintains and updates pre-nursing and nursing student records.
Assists with preparation of graduation applications and degree completion documentation.
Supports admissions review processes and acceptance notifications.
Assists with clinical compliance and credentialing requirements, including tracking required documentation.
Ensures student records are maintained in accordance with university policies and FERPA regulations.
Coordinates Recruitment activities (10%)
Represents the college at recruitment events, career fairs, open houses, and community outreach activities.
Assists with student recruitment initiatives and enrollment management efforts.
Maintains and updates college website content related to student services and admissions.
Develops, updates, and distributes recruitment materials, brochures, and marketing resources.
Participates in information sessions for prospective students and community partners.
Serves as a liaison between the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and strategic community partners to support workforce development initiatives.
Coordinates communication and collaborative activities with community partners to strengthen existing partnerships and identify opportunities for new collaborations.
Performs related duties as assigned (5%)

Required Qualifications
Associates¿ degree from an accredited institution in education, counseling, student affairs, healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
Three (3) years of experience in academic advising, student services, admissions, enrollment management, higher education administration, or a related field.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor¿s degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field.
Experience working with nursing, allied health, or healthcare professional programs.
Experience using student information systems and advising software.
Experience in recruitment, admissions, and retention initiatives in higher education.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of student advising principles and best practices.
Knowledge of admissions, registration, and graduation processes.
Knowledge of FERPA and student privacy regulations.
