Title: Student Summer Advancement Assistant | 2026

VP Area: Advancement & Alumni Relations

Job Summary/Basic Function:

We are looking for a motivated student to join our Advancement team this summer. You’ll play a key role in strengthening Alumni engagement through direct outreach, keeping our donor data organized, and providing hands-on support for our summer event calendar. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in communications, data management, or non-profit work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Outreach 

Engage with alumni and donors via phone to share university updates, success stories, and update contact records.

  • Conduct "thank you" calls to acknowledge recent gifts and build relationships.

  • Assist with specific summer fundraising or awareness campaigns.

2. Data Coordination & Research
  • Update donor records to ensure contact information (emails, addresses, phone numbers) is accurate

  • Enter gift data and interaction notes into the Customer Relationship Manager system (Banner) with close attention to detail.

3. Event & Administrative Support
  • Assist in the planning and execution of summer alumni events or donor receptions.

  • Manage event registrations and prepare materials (name tags, programs, gift bags).

  • Provide general office support, including mailings and digital filing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong Communicator: You’re comfortable talking to new people and represent the school with pride.
  • Detail-Oriented: You understand that "clean data" is the backbone of successful fundraising.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Drive or a willingness to learn CRM software.
  • Reliable & Proactive: You can manage your 25 hours effectively and jump in where needed.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time during events & lift up to 30 lbs.

Work Hours: 

Monday - Friday, some weekends and evenings (flexible)
