Report to Coordinator of the Writer's Studio
Department Library - Academics
FLSA Status Hourly, Non-Exempt
JOB PURPOSE
To assist students of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Spurgeon College to develop success oriented writing skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create an inviting environment to enable students to grow and mature in their writing capabilities
Assist students at any stage of the writing process through both on-campus and online conferences
answer writing-related questions
help students learn and practice writing strategies
Connect students to the Midwestern style guide
direct students to outside resources,
coach students through critiquing to strengthen their work in areas of ideas, structure, flow, etc.
Maintain detailed records of each student conference
Assist with writing workshops and special events
Follow the Writer's Studio philosophy and process
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
MUST BE CURRENT STUDENT OF MBTS OR SPURGEON COLLEGE, AND
MUST QUALIFY FOR THE FEDERAL WORK STUDY PROGRAM VIA FAFSA
