Substance Abuse Counselor

Tandem Behavioral Health Mental Health and Substance Abuse clinic Roanoke, Virginia. We are professional, inclusive and collaborative. We provide outpatient individual and group counseling for children and adults. We also have ASAM 2.5 Partial Hospitalization, ASAM 2.1 program, and Substance Use Case Management programs for adults. We work hard, and have high expectations of our staff, but provide you the support along the way to help you grow. The Substance Abuse Counselor:

• Provides both individual and group counseling sessions for our Partial Hospitalization Program
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient's recovery.
• Facilitate or Co-Facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
• Follow individual treatment plans for each assigned patient, and provide updates as needed.
• Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
• Participate in treatment team decisions for discharge
• Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.
• Provide case management duties for patients
• Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients, as needed.
• Complete random drug screens, as needed

As long as you have a bachelors degree, are trainable, ethical , and compassionate, we can link you with training resources and provide supervision for you to become a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. All it takes is the desire to learn.
