Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a Substation Planner III to support substation construction planning and coordination for utility projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical substations, substation construction, or related utility operations.
Candidates with hands on substation experience are encouraged to apply. Previous Substation Planner experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with strong substation knowledge and relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Support planning and coordination activities for substation construction projects.
Coordinate substation work activities with engineering, construction, operations, and field teams.
Assist with project scheduling, work planning, and site coordination.
Review substation drawings, technical documents, and project-related information.
Support substation equipment installation, upgrades, maintenance, and construction activities.
Coordinate field visits and communicate with stakeholders regarding project requirements.
Travel to assigned project sites across North Carolina as needed.
Follow applicable utility safety procedures and project requirements.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1–2 years of substation-related experience.
Knowledge of electrical substations, substation equipment, or construction activities.
Experience in substation planning, construction, maintenance, or field operations is preferred.
Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel to project sites using a personal vehicle.
Work Requirements
Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Flexible schedule: 4 days × 10 hours or 5 days × 8 hours.
Day travel to project sites in Garner, New Bern, Dunn, Leland, and Goldsboro, NC.
Personal vehicle required; mileage will be reimbursed.
