REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of modern cleaning methods, materials, and equipmentExperience in custodial related functions (preferred)Personal qualities of orderliness and neatnessDemonstrate ability to read and follow directions found on supplies and equipment printed in EnglishAbility to do heavy lifting of a minimum of fifty (50) pounds and perform heavy duty tasksA valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registrationRequired criminal history background check, physical and proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESMajor responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:Sweep, mop, buff, wash and perform related cleaning tasks, including but not limited to all instructional areas, toilets, walkways, asphalt areas, hallways, entrances, meeting rooms, etc.Clean and dust walls, blackboards, lockers, furniture and plumbing fixtures and other areas/items as appropriateWash windows and other glass areasMaintain stockroom, storage areas and supply closets in a safe manner, including the removal of rubbish and debrisMove supplies, furniture and equipment as directed by the Principal/Supervisor, using appropriate safety equipment and proceduresHeavy lifting of a minimum of fifty (50) pounds and the performance of heavy duty tasksAssist in making sure all doors are locked and unlocked and all areas are secured to prevent unauthorized access as directed by the Principal/SupervisorCheck fuel/oil levels (when appropriate), replace light bulbs and make minor repairsRaise and lower the flag, according to protocolReport or correct dangerous or unsightly conditions on and around the premises including disposal of rubbishAssist in maintaining an inventory and securing equipment and supplies, including but not limited to applicable technology such as HVAC, computers and other systemsPerformance of assigned duties in accordance with general acceptable industry safety standardsConduct periodic building checks of all doors and other areas as required to make sure the facility is secure and operational when assigned evening and/or weekend assignments by SupervisorEnsure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practicesBe available when called upon by the Supervisor or Central Administrators after the regular work dayWill be required to support projects and initiatives in other departments throughout CCSD on an as-needed basisOther duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Supervisor's designee PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical and environmental demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.Frequently moves items weighing up to 50 pounds to pack, load, and deliver orders; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objectsFrequently lifts items weighing up to 50 pounds, including raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to positionFrequently bends and twists holding items weighing up to 50 poundsClimbing/balancing - maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfacesStooping - bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waistCrouching - bending body downward and forward by bending leg and spineReaching - extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Possible exposure to a range of childhood and adult illnesses.Subject to extreme temperatures (temperatures below 32 degrees or above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour, which may be exacerbated by wind and/or humidity)Subject to atmospheric conditions including fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilationModerate to high at times, noise level especially during school hours, assemblies or events.Frequent interruptions from calls, walk-ins and urgent requests.Possible exposure to cleaning agents, instructional materials, and equipment-related chemicals.
