The Substitute Custodian will provide coverage for custodial staff as needed and help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly school environment for students, staff, and visitors.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred, but not required.Ability to perform physical duties associated with custodial work.Ability to work independently and follow directions.Dependable, punctual, and able to respond to substitute assignments as needed.Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and members of the public.Must successfully complete all required employment and background screening requirements.RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, common areas, and other assigned areas.Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces.Empty trash and recycling.Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies.Assist with the setup and breakdown of rooms and facilities for school activities and events.Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.Follow established safety procedures and use cleaning products and equipment properly.Perform other custodial duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Supervisor.POSITION DETAILSPosition: Substitute CustodianEmployment: Per Diem / As Needed subject to fingerprinting/background checkLocation: Fair Haven Public SchoolsRate: $26.08 per hourSchedule: As needed, based on district coverage needsAPPLICATION PROCESSInterested applicants should apply online at https://www.applitrack.com/fairhaven/onlineapp/default.aspx for posting 27-008.Posting Date: 10/1/2026Closing Date: 10/22/2026Applitrack ID: 538
