POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Director of Maintenance and Operations, performs routine to skilled duties in the construction, alteration, maintenance, and repair of District- owned buildings, structures, equipment, facilities, and mechanical and electrical systems; responds to work orders; creates and maintains inventory and maintenance records; related duties as assigned. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: E = Essential Duties The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. 1. Perform a wide variety of routine to skilled building maintenance and repair work on District buildings, facilities, and equipment utilizing one or more of the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, glazing, painting, plastering, or other standard construction and building maintenance trades E 2. Perform preventive maintenance to facilities, equipment, and machinery E 3. Perform journey-level maintenance in such trades as electrical, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, plastering, glazing, and painting E 4. Remove, replace and repair plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, washers, and gaskets as necessary; wires and adjusts sprinkler controls, clocks, and valves; installs pipes and sprinkler heads for irrigation; clears stoppages as required E 5. Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment as required; install and repair electrical outlets, switches, receptacles, fuses and tubes; replace electrical wiring, ballasts and light fixtures E 6. Maintain and repair heating and air-conditioning equipment, refrigeration systems, boilers and water heaters as required; check equipment and systems for proper operation and replaces belts, fans, filters and other parts as necessary 7. Weld, cut, thread, and join pipes 8. Maintain and repair door
